Mac OS User Tabbing
For Mac OS users, there is a system setting that may not allow you to tab onto several types of elements in a web page. To change this setting:
Open System Preferences and go to Keyboard:
Select the Shortcuts tab. Make sure the box for "Use keyboard navigation to move focus between controls" is checked.
Additional settings for Safari Browser.
Open Safari Preferences:
Select the Advanced tab. Make sure the box for "Press Tab to highlight each item on a webpage" is checked.
My name is Kristin Emmitt and my first year at Anthony Middle School was for the 2020-21 school year. I have been a School Counselor since 2014 and have spent that time in both Elementary and Middle School. Outside of school, I teach dance, coach Track & Field, travel with friends, and spend time with my husband and labradoodle. I am a School Counselor because I believed that being in schools was the most accessible way of reaching the general population who may struggle with mental health needs and to teach social emotional skills. With all the struggles that may come along with Middle School, I value being at this level because the students can learn to be proactive and preventative in nature, rather than reactive. I’m so happy to be at AMS with an incredible staff who are all working towards the same goal to support our Middle Schoolers.
My name is Shelly Ingram and this is my 9th year at Anthony Middle School, and my 21st year as a School Counselor. I have spent most of that time in the middle school. My husband, Tony, teaches PE/Fitness & Leadership at AMS and coaches at MHS. We have two daughters. Our oldest is in her first year at Ft. Hays State University and our youngest attends MHS. I truly enjoy working with middle school students, as they are transitioning from childhood to adulthood, and figuring out who they are. Adolescence is such a transformative time, and it is a joy to watch students grow and change in the short time they are with us. AMS is such a supportive environment, and we work to help all students figure out who they are and what tools they need to be successful in school- and in life!
