Welcome to the USD 383 Middle School Athletic Program

At Anthony and Eisenhower Middle School, we believe strongly in the link between academics and activities and encourage all students to seek out extracurricular opportunities.  Athletics is one of those opportunities that can be extremely rewarding for students when they commit to the discipline and structure that occurs in the team building process.

Middle School Athletic Philosophy

Middle school athletics is based on a philosophy of allowing students an opportunity to participate in a structured, competitive sport situation, whereby they can increase their level of skill development, team-building, and sportsmanship. All students are encouraged to try-out for a team and enjoy the many benefits gained through participation in competitive athletic activities—fitness, team-building, goal-setting, socialization, and the development of personal attributes of self discipline, self-confidence, and individual skill development.

The Responsibilities of the Middle School Student Athlete

It is a privilege, not a right, to represent your school on the athletic field. Many students before you have worn our school colors with great honor. It is now your turn. With this honor comes responsibility. Please know and understand the elements of the Athletic Code of Conduct as outlined below.

Anthony/Eisenhower Athletic Code of Conduct

Athlete Registration and Sports Physical

Students interested in participating in interscholastic athletics must complete a parent/student athlete registration. Parents/guardians will set up a profile, add student identity and medical information, and, together with the student athlete, read, sign and complete required paperwork within the application. Detailed instructions may be found here, by clicking this link. Parents must choose Susan B. Anthony Middle School when registering their children to the required school. The full process, including uploading a signed Athletic Physical Examination signed by a physician, must be completed PRIOR to any participation, including equipment checkout, practices, or games.

Families may choose to register their student for any or all sports they are eligible for through RegisterMyAthlete, which will make sport-specific information, updates and coach messages available to parents throughout those seasons, should the student participate on the team.  Parents are encouraged to sign up to receive email and/or text notifications in the event of a schedule change on short notice.

All athletes must view a KSHSAA-mandated Concussion Awareness video prior to participating in Middle School athletics, which is available in the registration process through RegisterMyAthlete.com. Athletes participating in Football, Volleyball, Basketball or Wrestling must also complete the computerized imPACT Concussion test before physically participating, which covers the student for 2 years and is not available online.  Please contact the school to find out when Concussion Testing will take place.
